Since I don’t have anything specific to talk about, I’ll just mention some of the highlights of our last few weeks:
We sold our spec house! (Phew!) A retired couple from Cali will be moving in on July 11th. So cool. Almost as cool was the fact that the lady asked Brian how much I wanted for the decor stuff that was in the house. I have been so eager to go get it out of there because my own house has seemed so bare, but now it looks like it may never come home. If not, I will have money to replace it all and a good excuse to go shopping. Anyway….now we will be able to get on with our lives and I will be able to get the Toyota Sienna I’ve been dreaming of. (Did I already mention in previous posts the battle Brian and I had for a year over what kind of vehicle to buy? Well, Brian finally agreed to let me get a minivan, but he reminds me that he will drive his truck to church until he feels ready and willing to drive the minivan. He doesn’t think a minivan is consistent with the image he is trying to build. Oh, you think I’m joking?…) So I think we will probably try and buy the minivan at the auction in Vegas when we are down there in August. I can’t wait. If there is anything that has brought me close to swearing on a consistent basis, it is trying to load and buckle three car seats that are jammed into the back seat of a camry.
We found a turtle on our street on the way home from church.
I went to Melissa’s sealing. I flew to Vegas and then drove up to Utah with my mom. She was married in the Bountiful temple, and it was fabulous. She seemed very happy and she looked beautiful. I had been anxious to see what her dress and hair would look like , seeing as she is no typical girl, and I was not disappointed. Her dress and hair were perfect for her. Man, I love that girl. She has been such an angel for me over the years. I was so excited to be reunited with three of my five roommates from my sophomore year in college. Monique and Kate–if you are out there–we would LOVE to find you guys!
My little sister, Laura, got engaged. She is marrying John Hendricks of Idaho. Although I have not met him, I have heard enough about him to feel like I have, and he seems almost as cool as Laura. He treats her like gold, promises to provide for her and let her take naps, AND he is a rapper and gifted percussionist. Could it get any cooler than that? They are going to put on a concert for all of us at their reception in August. I can’t wait!
I got to hang out with Rachel and Sonya. Rachel is married to Brian’s best friend, Justin, and I love her. I feel like I have known her forever. She introduced me to her sister, Sonya, who know lives in Coos Bay (which is in our stake) and I already feel like I have known her forever, too. Don’t you love people who make you feel like that?
Your living room, it looks sensational!! I loved the vacuume plug in the picture you showed us before, proof that a spotless room, is ever so lovely and ever so fleeting!! 🙂
YEAH for your house selling, props for her loving your decor, no surprise there, Yeah for Camp’s turtle, how fun, Camp is a handsome little guy. It was so fun for seeing you (you forgot to mention you got to see me and Mim, and put our famous pictures into your blog, thats ok, I can forgive you that, fame is…fleeting, right? But maybe one day I’ll hallmark a picture in the walls of your blog, —add with this Scotty’s crowd picture, a soft ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound ) And Ann, I decided what works best for me as far as emotional help and support and I will email it to you!! Love,
Emily
woops that made no sense, Scotty’s crowd sound effect, do you remember that sound? ahhhhhhhhhhhh, in reference to his BYU stadium sound effect— 🙂
ha ha ha you thought everyone was loving your blog than you realized it was emily over and over,
I used motivation for Milly to get dressed to come see Camp with his turtle! Milly says “Type Sally” to Camp whatever that means????
Congratulations on selling the house! That is huge! I wish I could have seen Melissa in person she looks beautiful, and last but not least, the project turned out great.
p.s. Ain’t no shame in a minivan. ( Don’t drive one but I am sure it’s in the not so distant future. I HATE filling up our durango!)
Chris too thinks he is manly…..but loved the van. Tell Brian to get over it and just drive it. They grow on you the same way mold grows on bread. Congrats on the sale of the house, I definatley know where you are coming from there.
Ann, I just love your house in general. Awesome decor! If I didn’t know better I would have thought you’ve become that interior designer you’ve always wanted to be!
How exciting that Laura is engaged!! I absolutely LOVE your ferns, the picture doesn’t do it justice. And…I AM SO HAPPY YOU WON THE MINI VAN BATTLE!!!!!! Woot Woot! I have to tell Brian how proud of him I am, and how manly it is that he is letting you pick!
Ann I love all of those pictures. I especially love the one that you are in that is close up. And that is sweet that you found a turtle…Campers looks pretty thrilled. And your family room! You did some rearranging since the last time I saw it. I love when you vacuum and you can see the lines from the vacuum…it makes the room look so clean. But it looks great, and I love the ferns. Anyway, I can’t wait to see you when you come down here in August…we will be swimmin it up in da poo. Bye Ann!
Love the ferns… congrats on selling the house… love Rachel… love you… love your husbands…often wished we all lived closer…
Ann…can you come decorate for me? It looks AWESOME…no joke’n around!
I love the ferns and I LOVE those cabinets in that kitchen picture. Congrats on selling the house! Can I say I’m jealous?
the Bountiful Temple…..?????
The pictures are beautiful! What a blessing to have sold your home. And there is nothing better than vacuum lines on the carpet, too bad it only lasts for five minutes.
Nice job on the room – seriously you should come decorate my house. I like so many different things I have a hard time picking a theme and going with it. Melissa looks so beautiful!
Sounds to me like all you need is a business license, you have plenty of references!!! Your home is perfect. About the minivan that is so funny. James and I owned one for like 5 months and now own an Expedition which needed new tires that of course had to be BIGGER. But he might just be kicking himself now that it costs 70 bucks just to go to Vegas.
